Dulce Tropical

Tropical Fruit & Agricultural Supplier to Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is an active, proven destination for Dulce Tropical: we have executed successive commercial MD-2 pineapple containers to the Saudi market following successful trial shipments — operations covered by Panamanian media and documented by Panama’s Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA). We grow, pack, and inspect in Panama and structure reefer programs for Saudi importers, distributors, and retail groups, either through direct Saudi entry or via Jebel Ali re-export.

Market overview

Saudi Arabia imports the large majority of its fresh fruit, and modern retail, foodservice, and wholesale distribution continue to expand demand for premium tropical produce. Latin American origins are gaining share as Saudi buyers diversify beyond traditional Asian and African supply — and Panamanian MD-2 pineapple has now entered the market through our own shipments.

Our press page collects the coverage of these shipments by La Estrella de Panamá, Mi Diario, MIDA, and Newsroom Panama, including the phytosanitary inspection process at our La Chorrera packing operation.

Buyer types we serve

Fruit importers and consolidators in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam; wholesale distributors serving traditional markets; modern retail chains and their category suppliers; and foodservice groups. Programs are structured to the buyer’s distribution model — full containers for importers, or consolidated programs via our Gulf routing.

Available product programs

MD-2 pineapple is the established program, with year-round availability from Panama. Watermelon and melon run December–April in the counter-season window; papaya and coconut are structured per program. Each program states origin, specification, and production model in writing.

Import requirements & documentation

Fresh produce entering Saudi Arabia is subject to Saudi food-import controls and must arrive with a phytosanitary certificate from the origin country, certificate of origin, and complete commercial documentation. Our shipments are inspected by MIDA plant-health technicians at packing, verifying fruit quality and the safety and hygiene practices required by the destination. Labeling and clearance details are confirmed per program with the importing partner.

Program structure

Two proven structures: direct Saudi entry (Jeddah or Dammam) for importers taking full containers, or entry via Jebel Ali with re-export into the Kingdom through Gulf distribution partners. We quote both against your volumes, ports, and delivery windows.
