Typical °Brix ranges from 13-16°, with a minimum of 12° for export. Panama's climate conditions favor high natural sugar concentration.
Properly handled MD-2 pineapple has 21-28 days shelf life at 7-8°C with 85-90% relative humidity. Pre-cooling within 6 hours is critical.
All calibers are packed in a 14 kg export carton. Available sizes range from Caliber 5 to Caliber 10 depending on market preference: 5 count (~2.6-2.8 kg per pineapple), 6 count (~2.2-2.4 kg), 7 count (~1.9-2.1 kg), 8 count (~1.6-1.8 kg), 9 count (~1.4-1.6 kg), and 10 count (~1.2-1.4 kg). Calibers 6 and 7 are typically the most requested for standard retail programs.
The typical minimum shipment is one 40' reefer container, which holds approximately 1,680 boxes (14 kg cartons). For continuous supply programs, we execute weekly or bi-weekly container shipments based on demand planning.
