Market overview

The UAE is the Gulf’s produce gateway: a large import market in its own right and the region’s dominant re-export hub. Dubai’s modern retail, hospitality, and foodservice sectors demand premium fruit year-round, and Jebel Ali’s cold-chain infrastructure supports efficient onward distribution across the GCC.

Buyer types we serve

Fruit importers and distributors at Dubai’s wholesale markets, modern retail chains and their category suppliers, hospitality and foodservice groups, and re-exporters serving the wider Gulf. Programs are quoted per specification with the production model stated for every product.

Available product programs

MD-2 pineapple anchors the route with year-round availability. Mango, papaya, passion fruit, and coconut are structured per season and freight mode — air freight puts freshness-critical fruit in Dubai within days. Specialty coffee programs serve the UAE’s growing roaster and hospitality scene.

Import requirements & documentation

Fresh produce entering the UAE must arrive with a phytosanitary certificate from origin, certificate of origin, and complete commercial documentation, and clears through the Emirates’ food-safety control system. Our fruit is inspected at packing in Panama, and labeling and clearance specifics are confirmed with the importing partner per program.

Frequently asked questions

Why route through the UAE instead of direct to each Gulf country?

Jebel Ali combines high vessel frequency, strong cold-chain infrastructure, and established re-export corridors — often the most efficient structure for buyers distributing across several GCC markets. Direct entry to Saudi ports is also available where volumes justify it.

Can you serve premium UAE retail with air freight?

Yes — air programs to Dubai and Abu Dhabi run for freshness-critical fruit such as papaya and passion fruit, with more flexible minimums than container programs.
